Just wanted to let you all know I was in Kansas last weekend interviewing for the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship and I won!
This scholarship funds a year of graduate studies abroad. I'll spend an academic year at a university in Peru, Argentina or Chile. Unfortunately, I won't leave until March 2011. The scholarships are awarded a few years in advance to allow for processing. My application will go to the National Rotary Foundation for approval, and then officially, I'll be a Rotary Scholar. There won't be any press or announcements until late next fall.
Needless to say, I'm VERY excited. I'm also happy there is an official ending date to my time in Texas. I'll work here until February 2011.
After a year in South America, I'll return to the states to finish my master's degree at an American university.

yea!!! i am so excited for you!! and a little jealous of course. :) but by march 2011 i will almost be done with school, so i guess it is okay!! :) way to go!
